Q. What are your prices?
A. You Pick Berries are $2.50/lb - Pre Pick Berries are $5.00/lb
Q. What are your hours?
A. We hope to be open each Monday through Saturday from 7am to 7pm during Berry Season.
We strongly encourage you to sign up for email alerts. Its the best way to be notified about when we're open or closed. We don't want you to drive out if we are picked out for the day or have to be closed due to inclement weather.
Q. Can someone pick my strawberries for me?
A. Absolutely! Thats called "Pre Pick." Just give us a call or send a message and we'll be happy to arrange a pickup time with you.
Q. Do I need to bring my own containers?
A. If you can, thats great! If you don't have any or forget, we'll be happy to provide containers for you.
Q. What is the best way to pick strawberries?
A. Grasp the stem just above the berry between the forefinger and the thumbnail and pull with a slight twisting motion.
With the stem broken about one-half inch from the berry, allow it to roll into the palm of your hand.
Repeat these operations using both hands until each holds 3 or 4 berries.
Carefully place - don't throw - the fruit into your containers. Repeat the picking process with both hands.
Don't overfill your containers or try to pack the berries down. If the strawberries are more than 5 inches deep, the berries on the bottom will be damaged.
Q. If its raining, can I still go out and pick my own strawberries?
A. For sure! However, we will have to pull you out if there is lightening in the area.
Q. If I pick in the rain, will I get wet and muddy?
A. If you bring an umbrella, you shouldn't get wet and there should be plenty of straw between rows to prevent you from getting muddy.
Q. Can children pick their own, too?
A. Yes, we encourage supervised children of all ages! Berry picking is fun for the whole family!
Q. Are your berries certified organic?
A. No, our berries are not organic. That being said, we use the most minimal products possible to still ensure a pleasurable picking experience. Moving forward, we will be exploring and experimenting with ways to get as close as possible to having organically grown berries in the future.
Q. How can I pay for my strawberries?
A. We are happy to announce that beginning in 2018, we will accept cash, check AND all major credit cards.
Q. Will strawberries ripen after they are picked?
A. Select firm, fully red berries. Strawberries DO NOT continue ripen after they are picked!
Q. How long do strawberries last in the fridge?
A. Properly stored, strawberries will usually keep for about 3 to 7 days in the fridge. To extend the shelf life of strawberries, do not wash the berries until ready to eat or use.
Q. How do I wash and freeze strawberries?
A. You can easily freeze berries that you cannot use right away - just wash and then let dry thoroughly, cut the hulls off and pop them into a ziplock bag, removing as much air as possible. Those vacuum food sealers REALLY do a good job of this! The berries will keep for many months frozen without air.
Q. How do I make strawberry jam?
A. There are so many ways! Please visit our Recipes page as well as our Pinterest page for directions and inspiration.
